Blues overpower Comboyne

THE Kendall Services Club Kendall Blues hosted the Comboyne Tigers at Kendall Showground on Friday night and after a slow start went on to win 32-4. Comboyne started strongly trading hit for hit with the home team until the 35th minute when Smokey Smith on the charge put half back Nick Christensen in under the posts, Kieran Roberts converted for a 6-0 lead. Terry Doyle scored next to the posts on the stroke of half time for a 12-0 half time score. Kendall then scored from the kick off on the resumption of play after good work from Nick to offload to Kieran who ran nearly the length of the field to score under the posts he converted his own try for a 18-0 lead. Robbo scored for Kendall next before Comboyne hit back for a 24-4 score. Robbo then took an intercept for a length of the field try and then scored his third in the corner for a final score of 32-4.

Players Player was Cameron Smith with Best & Fairest Points to Nick Christensen (3), Kieran Roberts (2) and Comboyne’s W Hinslewood (1)

This Saturday the Blues travel to Crescent head with a 2pm kick off.

The Blues are having a Fancy Dress Variety Night on Saturday 5th July at Kendall Club. The dress theme is something starting with B,L,U,E or S. The night starts at 6.30pm with a live band. There will also be a social cricket day at the Railway Street Oval on Saturday 21st June refreshments will be available at the ground. All are welcome to both social events.
