Blues trample over Long Flat comeback

The Kendall Services and Citizens Kendall Blues travelled to Long Flat on Saturday and won the points from a fast finishing Long Flat.

The game was at least 20 minutes old before Kendall scored the first try through Drew Gunning the try was unconverted for a 4-0 score.

Drew Bartlett was next to score and Chris Hanlon converted for a half time score of 10-0. Kendall continued where they left off in the second half with tries to Greg Darcy and Kieran Roberts for a 18-0 lead before Long Flat’s Jason Costigan ignited a come back for the home team with a try of his own.

Long Flat scored another two tries in the last nine minutes for a final score of 20-16.

Kendall were best served by Players Player George Heslop who had a big game with 35 tackles and 36 hit ups. Chris Hanlon and fellow forward Robert Smith provided good support with a high work rates. Chris Hanlon received three points and Drew Gunning one in the Best & Fairest points.

Kendall has their final home game of the season this Friday night at Kendall Showground against the Comboyne Tigers with a 6.30pm kick off.
