Bombers back in action

11/06/2008 11:24:00 AM
THE Camden Haven Bombers resume their season this weekend with the high-flying Under 12s back in action on Laurieton Oval.

Coach Andrew Bagnall has done a tremendous job getting a different group of players ready for the task each weekend and the best footy is ahead of this outstanding group.

The Under 14s travel to Kempsey to play the Macleay Valley Eagles at 11.15am.

Still struggling for numbers, the 14s have been buoyed by a few new recruits recently with Matt Woodward, Mighty Mick and Darby Bennett adding some much-needed spark to the team.

A win isn’t far away for this team of go-ers and this weekend represents a great opportunity if they can get everyone to travel.

The Auskickers will be at Laurieton Oval and parents are asked to come down and watch a bit of the Under 12s (starts at 10am) with the Auskick session starting at 11am behind the goals at the western end of the ground.

After last weekend’s washout, it is officially BRING A FRIEND DAY this Sunday and all Auskick players are urged to bring a friend along to enjoy the day.

Those new players should bring their $40 rego and registration form and all prospective new players are urged to come along and join in the fun.

Highlights on the day will include a BBQ and free cuppa for all Auskick parents as well as a game between the Auskick parents and their children – it should test the oldies’ hamstrings out.

Auskick parents should note that a Gala Day is being held in Kempsey on Sunday, June 22 with players from the Camden Haven, Wauchope and Port joining in the fun.

The gala day will be held at the Services Club Park, Kempsey from 8.45am sharp.

Auskickers will then form a guard of honour for the U12’s game. After the U12’s first quarter, games of Tunnel Ball, Tug of War, Egg & Spoon Races etc. will commence.

The Auskickers will then form a guard of honour for the U14’s game (11.15am) with a presentation at half time of the U14’s for the Auskickers.
